THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, November 5, 1925

The community was shocked Wednesday morning to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Tom Holden, mother of T. E. of this place, who died at the family home on Fourth Street in Palatka. While she had not been in robust health for two years, she has been able to look after her home and to give her loving care as always to her family. Wednesday morning at 6:30 o'clock the Death Angel entered the home and the spirit of the loved one fled.

Mrs. Holden was held in highest esteem by all those with whom she came in contact, and her life, while quiet and retiring, has been one of constant attention to duty. The splendid devotion which she has given to her home and her family, has been rewarded for. Seldom has a mother been acorded more loving service by a loyal family.

Amelia J. Holden, aged sixty-six years, was born in Harrison, N. J. where she spent her girlhood days. She was married to Tom Holden forty-three years ago, and forty years of her married life have been spent in Palatka.

Four sons, Hector, of Jacksonville, Tom E., of Bunnell, Clarence and Gilbert, of Palatka, and two daughters, Myrtle and Mrs. H. E. Merriday, also of Palatka, are left with the husband, to mourn her passing.

The funeral arrangements, which are in hands of the Davis undertaking parlors, are announced for 3 o'clock Friday afternoon from St. Mark's Episcopal church at Palatka.
