Thomas A. Herrington, 76-year-old resident of Flagler Beach was found dead at his home there late this afternoon by C. E. Ranger, postmaster, the man being dead for several days.

He had spent the past summer in the north, returning to Flagler Beach about two weeks ago. He was last seen Monday when he went to the home of A. A. Tinker to secure some tools with which to work on plumbing fixtures at his home. When the body was found it was slumped over the fixtures in the bathroom.

Postmaster Ranger missing him because he did not call for his mail, went to the Herrington home a few blocks away, finding upon his arrival that the man’s daily papers were piled up on the porch. Ranger went into the house and found the body.

Mr. Herrington came to Flagler Beach from New York state about 10 years ago, engaging in the real estate business for several years, and has made his home there since where he has several pieces of valuable property.

He was prominent in business and political circles of the town, having been a member of the tom commission for a number of terms.

He is survived by one son, B. N. Herrington, high school principal of Greenwich, New York, who has been notified of his father’s death.

Sheriff Whitaker called a jury for inquest which will be held tomorrow after viewing the body this evening.

The body was placed in charge of Haigh and Brooks, morticians of Daytona Beach, disposition of which awaits the arrival of the son.
