Leo F. Hughes, of Trenton, N. J., and winter resident of Flagler Beach, died at 5:15 Friday afternoon in the 1ocal hospital after an illness of about a month. He was 74 years old.

Mr. Hughes was a retired hotel owner-manager. He was, for many years, owner-manager of the Overseas Hotel in Key West, Florida

He organized and was president of the first Chamber of Commerce in Key West. He also operated the Malborough, and New Tenney Hotels of Asbury Park, N. J., and the Grays Inn of Jackson, N. H. He had been retired for about four years.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Hadley Whitfield of Flagler Beach; two sons, Leo F. Hughes, Jr., of Trenton, N. J., and Allen Hughes of West End, N. J. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

The remains were returned to Trenton where funeral services were held Tuesday morning. Arrangements here were under direction of Garcia Funeral Home of St. Augustine. .

Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Whitfield accompanied the remains to Trenton.
