Leroy Hunter, 57, principal of Carver High School, died Thursday morning at his home in Bunnell after a long illness. He was principal at Carver for 11 years.

He was born in Leon County and came here ten years ago from Hernando County.

Graduated from Florida A. and M. University, Tallahassee, he received an MA degree from Columbia University in New York City.

Survivors include his wife, Luretta; two daughters, Mrs. Elane Smith, St. Augustine; Mrs. Austine Perry, California; three brothers, Matthew, Germany; William, Jacksonville; Rev. A. H., Quincy; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hamilton, Philadelphia.

Services were Tuesday afternoon at 2 at St. James Baptist Church, Bunnell.

Burial was in Tallahassee, Wednesday at 4 p.m.
