Rev. J. E. (Jim) Jenkins, a former pastor of the Bunnell Methodist Church and a retired member of the Florida Methodist Conference, died January 18 in Vero Beach. Funeral services and interment was held there on January 20.

Rev. Jenkins had served as a Methodist Minister more than 50 years. He came to the Florida Conference from the Alabama Conference in 1933. He came to Bunnell in 1934 and served as pastor of the Bunnell Methodist Church until June 1936.

Since his retirement, he has resided in Vero Beach. He had served as Minister of Visitation at the Methodist Church of Vero Beach since 1956. He had served as pastor there several years ago. He was honored at a "Jim Jenkins Day" celebration at the church there about a year ago.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Helen M. Jenkins of Vero Beach; three sons, Major James E. Jenkins, Jr., USAF, Houston, Texas; John Jenkins of Macon, Ga.; and Rev. Robert Jenkins of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Mrs. James Baldwin of Vera Beach, and Mrs. H. B. Witherspoon of Santa Ana, Calif.
