Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Deen, wife of W. H. Deen of Bunnell, who died early Monday afternoon at her home here following a brief illness, were held on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the First Methodist Church with Rev. R. A. Selby, pastor of the church, officiating.

Burial followed at Pellicer Creek cemetery.

Mrs. Deen was a life-long resident of Flagler County. She was a member of the local Methodist Church and Eastern Star Chapter, and was active in both organizations. Members of the Eastern Star attended the services in a body. Mrs. Deen attended church services Sunday morning and became ill during the early afternoon but was up for a short time Monday morning before she was fatally stricken. She was 56 years of age.

Survivors include her husband, W. H. Deen, Bunnell; two sons, W. W. Deen, Bunnell, and Curtis Deen who is a member of the U. S. Marine Corps and stationed at Parris Island, S. C.; a daughter, Mrs. Z. G. Holland, Jr., Jacksonville; her mother, Mrs. Mary Ketus Johnston, of Bunnell; three step-children, Mrs. A. Conner of Baxley, Ga.; Mrs. Virgil Decker of Moultrie, Ga.; and H. C. Deen of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. O. H. Spencer of Orlando; Mrs. J. E. Pellicer, Mrs. S. C. Bankston, and Mrs. F. D. Copeland of Bunnell; two brothers, E. W. Johnston of Bunnell and I. L. Johnston of Daytona Beach. Nine grandchildren also survive.

TRIBUTE OF RESPECT TO OUR BELOVED SISTER MINNIE DEEN

WHEREAS, it has pleased the Almighty, All-wise and Omnipotent Grand Patron of the Universe to sound the gavel of death in the Celestial East summoning our highly esteemed and beloved Sister Minnie Deen from earth to that celestial home not made by hands, eternal and in the heavens.

Therefore, Be It Resolved by Bunnell Chapter No. 93, Order of Eastern Star that in the death of Sister Deen we have lost a true and sincere friend. While we sincerely deplore the demise of Sister Den, we bow with humble submission to the will of Him who committeth no errors and doeth all things well.

Resolved, that a pate of the minute book of this Chapter be dedicated to her memory and that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minute book of the Chapter as tribute of respect; and that a copy be sent the Flagler Tribune for publication and one copy be sent the bereaved ones.
