The body of Thomas Krasovic, which was found hanged in his jail cell the county jail early Sunday afternoon, April 7th, has been claimed by his uncle, Antone Krasovic, Cleveland, Ohio, and has been there at his request.

Krasovic, whose address was given as Fontona, California, hanged himself, according to local Coroner’s Jury by tearing the seam out of his trousers. He stood on the lavatory in the cell and attached one end of the seam to the cell bar and the other to his neck, and stepped off the lavatory.

He was found by a deputy who reported it. The Coroner’s jury was impaneled to view the scene and talk with Garrett the only other prisoner on the second flood of the jail. Garrett stated that he was asleep and did not know about it until he was awakened by the deputy who found Krasovic.

The Coroner’s Jury rendered the statement, which is outlined above. Their report also noted that there was not neglect on the part of jail personnel. Dr. Russell P. Blanton was called to the scene.

Krasovic had been appended by an officer on April ?? and charged with reckless driving and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license was placed in jail pending a trial. It was noted that he was driving an automobile stolen form St. Johns County and that county had placed a hold on him when he was to be released by Flagler County.

According to Sheriff P. A. Edmonson, fingerprints were checked thu the FBI but there was no further record of the man.

Since no survivors could be found last week, the body was turned over to Craig Funeral home for burial. Arrangements were made thu Veterans’ Service Officer Raymond Smith to obtain funds for a burial. Reverend Oliver F. Taylor performed a service of last rites, and burial was made in Hope Cemetery.

Since that time, a brother and an uncle have been located and the brother requested that the body be shipped to Ohio. Sheriff Edmonson said that the body was disinterred and shipped to Ohio last Monday.
