William Elliott McArthur, of Jacksonville died early Monday morning in a hospital there after an illness of several years.

He was a naval stores operator and landowner, part of which was in this county.

A native .of Cumberland S. C. he had resided in Jacksonville for 32 years, and was well known to many people in this county which he often visited when looking after his interest here.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Wade McArthur, Jacksonville; one brother, Charles Neil McArthur; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza McArthur Newton, and Mrs. Hector McGeachy, of Fayetteville, N. C., and a number of nieces and nephews.
