Murtaugh M McCann, 56, generally known as “Scotty,” died Friday at Memorial Hospital in Ormond Beach. He lived at 2258 Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach.

Funeral services took place Monday afternoon at Dale Woodard Funeral Chapel, Ormond Beach, with Reverend Father Roland Julien, Pastor of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach, conducting the service.

Burial followed in Hope Cemetery.

Mr. McCann was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He moved to Palm Coast six years ago form Glen Elbin, Ill., and later to Flagler Beach.

At the time of his death, Mr. McCann was a salesman for Dave Gibbs Auto Company. Before that he had worked as an exterminator and as a licensed contractor, specializing in home additions and alterations in the Palm Coast area.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church.

Survivors include his widow, Martha; four daughters, Mrs. Sharon Housholder, Ormond Beach; Mrs. Candice Bean and Mrs. Pamela Smykal, both of Batavia, Ill.; and Mrs. Leslie Fay, Lisle, Ill.; three sons, Shawn M. McCann, Ormond Beach; Kevin McCann, Frenchtown, Mont.; and Gregory Schram, Batavia, Ill; one brother, Joseph McCann, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Kirbaur, Lombard, Ill., and Mrs. Alice Rohan, Chicago; and three grandchildren.
