THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, March 26, 1953

Mrs. Nellie C. Baker, 72, died in Jacksonville Saturday. She was the widow of S. A. Baker, Sr., who died in 1924.

Mr. and Mrs. Baker were residents of Flagler Beach in the years following 1921 when they bought the old Moody Casino, then at what is now the corner of Highway 11 and AlA. Mr. Baker built the first fishing pier at Flagler Beach jutting out from that corner. The pilings were of palmetto logs and were soon decayed by marine organisms and high tides.

Funeral services for Mrs. Baker were held from the family home in Seville Tuesday afternoon in Seville. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Winifred Robinson, Jacksonville; three sons, Frank Baker, Jacksonville; George Baker, Odessa, Texas; and Albert Baker of Seville. Also surviving are two granddaughters and one great-grandson.
