Funeral services for J. H. McKnight, Sr., of Bunnell, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the First Baptist Church here, with Rev. John M. Dickson, pastor, officiating.

Burial was made in Espanola Cemetery the same day with W. Carl Davis and Son of Palatka, in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were: Active, F. M. Townsend, W. H. Wells, J. F. Mercer, Clyde Lewis, J. N. McIntosh, and Hazen Benson. Honorary, E. W. Johnston, H. T. Cook, R. W. Deen, Sr., W. H. Deen, C. O. Magee and R. W. Cody.

Death occurred Sunday afternoon in a St. Augustine hospital where he had been a patient for several days. He had been in poor health for a number of months prior to his death.

Mr. McKnight was a native of Alabama, being born in Slocumb July 28, 1879, but had lived here for the past 45 years. He was a turpentine operator his entire life, except during the time he served as sheriff of Flagler county, January 1929 to January 1933.

He was a member of Bunnell Lodge 200, F & A. M. and of the Bunnell Baptist Church.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Minnie S. McKnight; two sons, Jesse H. McKnight, Jr., and T. K. McKnight, of Bunnell; three brothers, Chester McKnight, Panama City, Fla.; Charlie Mc. Knight, Rileywood, Ala.; and Coleman McKnight of South Carolina; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Spencer, Panama City, Fla., and Mrs. Bonnie Bedsole, Slocumb, Ala. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
