A raging fire which started early Tuesday morning took the life of Fred Lewis Morrow, 68, Flagler Beach, and destroyed his home at 1915 N. Central Avenue. His body was found near the front door just inside the charred brick structure.

Beach volunteer firemen were called to the scene three times to extinguish the blaze after flames reappeared. Assistant Fire Marshall Dees of Jacksonville is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, according to the County Sheriff's Office.

Morrow had been a resident of Flagler Beach about five years. He was a retired Seaboard Railroad conductor. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jan Zemirla of Tampa.

Seashole Funeral Parlors, Jacksonville, is in charge of funeral arrangements. Craig Funeral Home, Bunnell, was in charge of local arrangements.
