Services for former State Senator B. C. Pearce, 73, Palatka, who died Friday, were held Monday at St. Marks Episcopal Church, Palatka.
Pearce served two terms in the House of Representatives and 20 years in the Florida Senate. He was chairman of the influential Finance Committee and was recognized all over the state as an expert on state finances and taxation.
Pearce was a potato and cabbage grower in .the East Palatka area. Most of the farmers in Flagler County considered him a friend in the Legislature. When Senator Pearce ran for the senate district including Flagler County he carried this county by a large majority.
Graveside services were conducted by Palatka Lodge No. 34 F&AM at Oak Hill Cemetery.
