On Christmas Day, J. D. Pierce, who had been ill but a short time at the hospital at St. Augustine, died of complicated heart and stomach trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Pierce and son have been residents of the north Flagler Beach section where they had filed on a homestead which has but recently become their property. Mrs. Pierce ac­companied the remains to New York for burial. The many friends at the beach extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
