Mrs. E. L. Carpenter, of Cobb, Ga., mother of Mrs. L. E. Wadsworth of' Bunnell, died at the Americus and Sumter County Hospital in Americus, Ga., early Friday night, following an illness of several months.

Mrs. Carpenter, who was 76 years of age, was the former Lulu Pipes of Moreland, Ky. She had resided in Cobb since 1934. She was a member of the Leslie Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Leslie Methodist Church in Cobb with Rev. Emory C. Gilbert and Rev. H. C. Hornsby officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.

She is survived by her hus­band, E. L. Carpenter of Cobb; four daughters, Mrs. Angela Wadsworth of Bunnell; Mrs. Robert Black, Minneola, Fla.; Mrs. Malcolm Boyce, Doraville, Ga.; and Mrs. W. H. Clark, Cobb, Ga. One son, K. L. Carpenter, Americus, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Cox, Perryman, Ky., and Mrs. Susie Thorp of Ct. Francis, Ky. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
