After an illness of four months in a Palatka hospital, Mrs. Leon J. Canova, of Flagler Beach, died Sunday morning. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Lillian of Palatka; one son, Lt. Col. Enrique C. Canova, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson, all of whom live in Washington, D. C.

Of New England stock, Mrs. Canova was born in Alexandria, Va., on August 13, 1865. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E, Ransom, moved to Palatka in 1872 and she lived there until May, 1894. On September 18; 1893, she was married to Leon J. Canova at Palatka.

Soon afterward Mr. Canova took up newspaper work in Tampa and from there went to Havana, Cuba, where the family remained for 15 years. From Cuba they went to Washington and for several years Mr. Canova was connected with the state department. Ten years later the family went to Bogota, Colombia, remaining in South America about two years.

The family returned to Florida in 1930, and for the past three years, has resided at Flagler Beach.

The body was interred Tuesday morning at Oakhill Cemetery, Palatka, from the Episcopal church.

Pallbearers were George Wick­line, George Moody, and C. E. Hanger of Flagler Beach; T. E. Holden of Bunnell; Emmett Brown and J. Justin of Palatka.
