Joseph W. Rhodes, former business man of Bunnell, died in Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine Saturday afternoon. He was a native of Iron Mountain, Michigan and had resided here 29 years.

Mr. Rhodes was a restaurant owner here for fifteen years, and retired in 1953. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Bunnell and was 81 years of age. He had resided in St. Augustine for the past 15 months making his home with his granddaughter, Mrs. Marie Frantz and her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Florence Maryes of Bunnell; six grand children and six great grand children.

Funeral services were held here at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon from the First Methodist Church of Bunnell. Rev. Howard Porter, pastor of the local Methodist Church and Rev. J. E. McKinley, Pastor of the .First Methodist Church of St. Augustine, officiated.

Interment followed at Volusia Memorial Cemetery, Nova Road.

Pallbearers were John Rice, Tom Holden, Clyde Lewis, Paul Stanish, Otis Hunter, and Herbert Allen. Honorary bearers were R. A. Powell, Howell Peavy, Phil Johnson, George M. Moody, Wilfred Hunter, and E. S. Morris.

Arrangements were under the direction of Garcia Funeral Home in St. Augustine.
