Foster Harden Rich, 62, Hernandez Avenue, Hammock area, North Flagler Beach, son of the late Lavern and Elton Rich, a pioneer Volusia County family, died Tuesday at his home.

Mr. Rich was a 1934 graduate of Mainland High School and attended the University of Florida. He was a radio operator in the Merchant Marines during World War II, was a general building contractor in the Daytona Beach area for 25 years before his retirement six months ago due to illness, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae; five sisters, Mrs. Celia Parker, now of Vero Beach, Mrs. Ginger Aspy, now of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Doris Jarrell, now of Mount Airy, N.Y., Mrs. Jackie Sommerlab and Delia Ray Rich, both of Holly Hill, 10 nieces and 11 nephews.

Quarterman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
