John D. Robinson, 83, died Monday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Anderson, of South Jacksonville, after a brief illness.

Mr. Robinson was in the merchant business here for over 21years, having retired from business in 1937. He was a native of Royersford, Pa.

Mr. Robinson had led an active life and appeared in good health when seen on a downtown street here Saturday afternoon. He became ill Saturday night and was carried to the home of his daughter in Jacksonville Sunday afternoon, and died Monday afternoon.

He is survived by his widow, Mr. Maggie Robinson of Bunnell; and one daughter, Mrs. W. A. Anderson, who is known in the dental profession as Dr. Helen Robinson, having practiced dentistry with offices in the St. James building in Jacksonville for fifteen years. Also four nieces.

He was a devoted member of the Methodist Church of Bunnell, and was active in church work.

Funeral services were held Wednes­day at 2:30 o'clock in the Burns-Naugle chapel with the Rev. A. B. Rob­ertson, pastor of the First Christian. Church of Jacksonville, officiating, Interment was in West Evergreen cemetery.

Honorary pall bearers were T. E. Holden, George. Biddle, Charles D. Hance,  James Henderson, John Rice, and D. M. Hughes; Active, H. J. Stumph, W. A. Hagood, A. B. Russell, George W. Flock, W. S. McKeithen and Raymond Winsted.
