Dr. J. E. Rose of Pensacola, former resident of Bunnell and Flagler Beach, died at his home there early Sunday afternoon following a long illness. He was 79 years of age and had been retired about two years.

Dr. Rose was a native of Brewton, Alabama, and had practiced medicine in Alabama several years before coming to Florida. He was located in Hastings and Crescent City before coming to Bunnell in 1941. Later he moved to Flagler Beach. He and Mrs. Rose moved to Pensacola about a year ago.

Funeral services were held from the Fisher-Pou Funeral Chapel in Pensacola at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Rev. E. W. Ware, of Graceville, former pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, officiated at the service. Interment followed there.

Dr. Rose is survived by his wife of Pensacola; a daughter, Mrs. Benny Black of Bunnell; two sons, Sgt.-Major Harold Rose of San Diego, Calif., and Ralph Rose of Ft. Myers. Also surviving are several grandchildren.
