Mrs. Eda Hart Wilkins of Flagler Beach and Anniston, Alabama, passed away at her home in Anniston Tuesday aft­ernoon after an illness of several weeks.

Mrs. Wilkins head been a summer resident of Flagler Beach for many years and owned her home on North Central Avenue. She had served as organist for the Community Memorial Church in Flagler Beach. She was 80 years of age.

She is survived by one son, Gene Hart of Flagler Beach. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Mrs. John Barker and Mrs. Thomas Clark.

Funeral services will be held in Anniston Friday. Gray Brown Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Eda Scherer Hart Wilkins was born at Dundas, Ill. where she attended elementary grade school and graduated from Troy Grove, Ill. High School.

She attended Oberlin Teachers College in Ohio where she received a degree in Music and taught piano at Deer Lodge, Montana.

She graduated from the Stuttgart Conservatory of Music, Germany, and upon her return to the United States was a theatre organist for many years in Buffalo, N. Y. and Los Angeles. Calif.

Mrs. Wilkins came to Anniston in 1930 upon the death of her father, Rev. John F. Scherer, and has resided here and in Flagler Beach, Florida, where she maintained a summer home.

She has taught piano and organ extensively here and was choir director and organist of the First Presbyterian Church of which she was a member of long standing.

Mrs. Wilkins is survived by one sister, Mrs. Charles A. Fritz of Florence, Mass; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene L. Hart of Flagler Beach, Florida; two granddaughters, Mrs. Gerry Barker, Albany, Ga., and Mrs. Judy Ann Clark, Atoka, Tenn. and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial service was held at 2 P. M. Friday at Gray Brown Mortuary with interment in the family plot at Edgemont Cemetery.

She died February 11 at her home in Anniston.
