Charles Tillman Smith died August 11th, born March 4, 1870 at Laurens County, Ga.

The deceased had been a resident of Espanola for three years and became the husband of Mrs. Pearl E. Whitton at Bronson, Levy County, September 8, 1928.

The deceased was a private in the Spanish-American War, Company K, Second Georgia Regiment and was stationed at Camp Brown, Savannah, Georgia. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Loyd, Florida, also a member of the Woodmen of the World, Camp No. 7, Palatka, Florida.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pearl Smith of Espanola; three daughters, Blanch, Nell and Sarah Marie, all of Gainesville, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Arsia Kight of Kite Georgia, Mrs. Bell Whitaker of Griffin, Georgia; a number of nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces, and one step-son, Owen Whitton of Milledgeville, Georgia.
