Wednesday morning at shortly before three o'clock, Dr. Moses St. Peter, physician and surgeon of prominence and widely known throughout this and surrounding counties, underwent an operation for appendicitis, the operation being performed by Doctors Fogerty of St. Augustine, Warren of Palatka and Carter of Bunnell. The patient being too ill to be removed to the hospital at St. Augustine, the operation was performed at Dr. St. Peter's home here.

His physicians state that while the doctor's advanced years are somewhat against him and the appendix fluffed before the operation, his chances are none too bright, but they are of the opinion that he will, owing to a strong constitution and otherwise healthy condition, pull through in good shape.

The entire population of the county is interested in the welfare of Dr. St. Peter and will be glad to see him well and back on the job where he has become a popular fixture that can not well be spared.

After a day of encouraging symptoms by which the relatives and friends of Dr. St. Peter hoped that the worst had passed. Thursday evening found him in great agony that medical skill and nursing failed to relieve.  He continued to grow worse and up to the time of his death, which occurred shortly after 2 o'clock, Friday morning, he could not be kept quiet, which fact hastened the end.

Funeral services over the remains of Dr. Moses St. Peter who expired Friday morning last at his home here after undergoing an operation for appendicitis, were held from the Cathedral at St. Augustine on Monday forenoon of this week, the interment being, as the Tribune is informed, deferred to a later date.

The services were attended by a number of Bunnell citizens who motored up early .in the morning.

Mrs. St. Peter, we are informed, has returned home and has determined to reside in Bunnell, it having been rumored that she would return to the west.

The death of Dr. Moses St. Peter has and will be keenly felt in Flagler County. For a number of years he has practiced his profession here and has met with success. He was the resident physician for the East Coast Railway and was known among the workmen along the road from Jacksonville to Key West, among whom he was immensely popular.

As a citizen of Bunnell he had many friends and a splendid clientele. His striking personality made him noticeable among his fellows and he knew no strangers. His cherry voice had become a feature of Bunnell, and for all his peculiarities, harmless and well-meant at all times, Dr. St. Peter's departure will long be felt and missed in sincere regret by all who knew him.
