Raphael Sturman, 78, owner of Bunnell Department Store, died Sunday night at Bunnell General Hospital. Had had been as resident of Bunnell for the past 20 years.

Mr. Sturman came to Bunnell in 1948 from Syracuse, New York. He had been circulation manager of the Syracuse Post-Standard and the Wilmington News-Journal in Wilmington, Del.

He was a member of Bunnell Lodge No. 200 F&AM and Flagler Shrine Club.

He is survived by his wife Gladys; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Marshall, Onancock, Va.; one son, Dr. William Sturman, East Orange, New Jersey; a step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Thompson, Jacksonville; a step-son, Major William Livingston, Manassas, Va., and one grandson and one great grandson.

Masonic services were held at the First Methodist Church of Bunnell at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. Reverend Oliver Taylor, pastor of First Methodist Church, assisted.  Interment was in San Lorenzo Cemetery in St. Augustine.

Active pallbearers were Dale Brown, John A. Clegg, William W. Deen, Hubert Frier, Donald R. Moore and John C. Rice. Honorary pallbearers were O. F. Alford, John M. Canakaris, M. B. Fuller, Tom E. Holden, Z. D. Holland, and John N. McIntosh.

Craig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
