James L. Taylor, 60, 240 N. Whitney Street, St. Augustine, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 31, at Veterans Hospital in Lake City. A former Flagler County resident, he owned and .operated the James L. Taylor Real Estate Agency in St. Augustine.

He was a native of Fitzgerald, Ga. and resided at Flagler Beach before moving St. Augustine 12 years ago. He was a member of St. Augustine Elks Lodge BPOE No. 9 and St. Augustine Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 17. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel the Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine, with the Rev. Paul D. Carmichael, Jr., pastor of the Ancient City Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services were held in the Lutheran Cemetery at Pierson, Fla. at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eunice P. Taylor, St. Augustine; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Bogan, Augusta, Ga. and Mrs. Abby Hunter, Fitzgerald, Ga.; one brother, Cecil Taylor, Irwinville, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
