THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, April 23, 1942

The sea gave up its dead along the shores of Flagler and Volusia counties this week, when bodies of two unidentified men, believed to seamen, washed up on the beaches. One body of a man about 50 years old, enveloped in a rubber suit, was found a few miles north of Flagler Beach Wednesday by coastguardsmen stationed there.

The other body was found the same day about six miles north of Ponce de Leon Inlet, south of Daytona Beach.

Coast guard officials took charge of the bodies and were to begin attempts to have them identified.

The body found on the shore near Flagler Beach was picked up by an ambulance of the Seashole Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
