Mrs. Mary V. Johnson of Artesia Park passed away early Sunday night at the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. She was a retired State Welfare Worker and was a member of the Catholic Church.

Mrs. Johnson was born in St. Augustine and had resided in Crescent City many years before moving to Flagler County. She was 55 years of age.

She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Johnson of Artesia Park; a stepson, Mickey Johnson of Miami; one sister, Mrs. George Miller, Sr., of Crescent City; a twin brother, Henry Vandergrift of Montgomery, Ala. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services were held at the Eden Cemetery in Crescent City at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning. Father Duncan of St. Monaco's Church officiated. The Rosary was said at the Craig Chapel in St. Augustine Tuesday night.

Pallbearers were her nephews, John Miller, Jim Miller, George Miller, Jr., Wallace Smiley, George Vandergrift and Jim Vandergrift.

Craig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
