Henry Van Ostrom, 77, a resident of Flagler Beach for the past 12 years, died at four o'clock Monday morning in Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach after a short illness. He had suffered a heart attack about ten days before his death.

He was born in Duchess County, N. Y. but moved to Flagler Beach in 1943 from Cheshire, Conn.

He was a retired building contractor. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hattie Van Ostrom and a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice McCasland of West Cheshire, Conn.

The body was shipped by rail Tuesday to Waterbury, Conn., where funeral services and burial will take place. Mrs. Henry Wilson accompanied the body on the train. Mrs. Van Ostrom and Mrs. McCasland traveled by plane.
