Flagler Beach pioneers will be grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Marguerite Elizabeth Walker, which occurred at St. Augustine Saturday afternoon, November 17.

Mrs. Walker was among the earliest pioneers in that section of Flagler County which is now the town of Flagler Beach, she having located and filed homestead papers on a part of the Fuquay subdivision in 1916.

Mrs. Walker reached the age of 72 years, and was born in Starke, Florida, July 6, 1856, spending the greater part of her life in St. Johns and Flagler Counties, late in life making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Emma McCarthor in Cutler, Florida.

Her life was the diligent and faithful life of the pioneer, taking her share of' hardships with cheerfulness and smiles. She will be long remembered by those living in Flagler Beach for the afternoons spent at social gatherings listening to her stories of Indian days and the blazing of trails which have gone to make up the links in Florida history,

Relatives left to mourn the loss of Mrs. Walker are a sister, Mrs. M. E. Fuquay; a niece, Mrs. Ida Upson and two nephews, B. L. and D. F. Fuquay.

Interment was made at the Moultrie Cemetery, Monday morning.
