Harry Gaines White, formerly a resident of Bunnell, died early Sunday morning in a Jacksonville hospital following a short illness.

He was born in Axson, Ga., and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Barney J. White who resided in Flagler County for many years.

Mr. White had lived in Jacksonville for the past three years where he was employed by the Florida East Coast Railway. He planned to retire on the 25th of this month when he became 60 years of age.

Mr. and Mrs. White resided in Bunnell for several years both owning and operating their own business. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist of Jacksonville.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Alice White of Jacksonville; one sister, Mrs. Clara Rice of Bunnell; two brothers, Fred F. White, Bunnell, and Spencer P. White, Detroit, Mich. Also surviving are one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services were held at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Allen-Summerhill Chapel in DeLand with Lee Maxwell, reader of the Christian Science Church, officiating. Burial was in Oakdale.

Pallbearers were Elmer Tedder, Hugh Ellison, George Botsford, Joseph E. White, Clyde Lewis, Hubert Pellicer, and Water Pellicer.

Robert M. Naugle Mortuary was in charge of arrangements in Jacksonville.
