Memorial services were conducted Monday at Flagler Beach Community Memorial Church for Howard Wisehaupt, mayor of the city from 1947 to 1949. Cremation followed.

Wisehaupt, 88, died Friday at Clyatt Memorial, a nursing home in Volusia County, after a lengthy illness.

Unmarried, he had been living in Daytona Beach for several years.

Mr. Wisehaupt was elected mayor of Flagler Beach on March 4, 1947, and took office the next month for a term of two years.

He was born in Bluffton, Ind. He moved to Flagler Beach in 1940 from Red Bank, N.J.

He was a retired sales engineer and lectured across the U.S. in his younger years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War I and a member of the Community Memorial Church.

Survivors include a nephew.

Craig Funeral  Home, Bunnell, was in charge of arrangements.
