Thurman C. Young, 58, Korona, died Sunday afternoon, December 24, as the result of gunshot wounds. He was born June 25, 1909 in Douglas, Ga. and lived in the Crawfordville, Florida area.

Mr. Young was a member of the Crawfordville Baptist Church. During World War II he served in Japan and Philippines in the Construction Engineers. He was a Technical Sergeant in the U. S. Army.

He has served as Superintendent of Caddell and Jackson Construction Co. and B. B. McCormicks and Sons, both of Jacksonville and was recently superintendent of the construction of a new secondary road in the Bimini area in Flagler County.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. M. C. Strickland, Jr. and two grandchildren Marcia and Mark of Bunnell; step-mother, Mrs. Minnie Young, Cottondale; wife, Mrs. Edna Young; sisters, Mrs. Stella Mae Carter, Crawfordville, Mrs. Ora Braxton, Cottondale and Mrs. Emma Wills; brothers, George, Wakulla; Otto and Jacob, Cottondale and Leonard, Pensacola.

Funeral service is planned for 2 p. m. today at Crawfordville, Baptist Church with J. A. Culley and Sons Funeral Home, Tallahassee in charge.
