Thrusday, December 18, 2008A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Betty Ann Johnson, 76 of Flagler Beach will be held on a later date at Flagler Beach United Methodist Church 1520 S. Daytona Ave Flagler Beach. She passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Johnson was born on March 27, 1932 in Augusta, GA. to the late James Arthur and Luna Babbitt (Moody). In 1939 when she was just 7 yrs old she moved to the Flagler Beach area. Mrs. Johnson was a founding member of the Ocean Waves Square Dance Group, a volunteer at the Flagler Beach Historical Museum and a member of Flagler Beach United Methodist Church. She enjoyed swimming, sewing, dancing, going to the beach, playing bridge and tennis. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Her son Donald Arthur Johnson predeceased her as well as her husband of 56 years in July 2007.
Survivors include her sons, David A. Johnson of St. Augustine; Dale A. Johnson of Harriman, TN; daughter, Debra A. Birkett of Harriman, TN; brother, William M. Babbitt of Deland; sister Barbara J. Stryker of Deland; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
