SOUTH DAYTONA -- Mabel Bray "M.E." Sizemore, 84, a longtime area resident who was actively involved in the community, died Sunday at her home on South Palmetto Avenue. 

Mrs. Sizemore was born in Haw Creek and moved to this area after her graduation from Bunnell High School. She was an active business partner with her husband, the late Thad Sizemore, in their construction company, and their motels, which they built and operated, including the Sea Dip and the Hi Seas. 

Mrs. Sizemore was active in the Halifax River Yacht Club and was a member of the International Order of Blue Gavel Ladies Auxiliary. She served as a volunteer for many years at Halifax Medical Center and was a member of Central Baptist Church. An accomplished golfer, Mrs. Sizemore played regularly for many years at Tomoka Oaks Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include two sons, Thad "Dick" Jr., Edgewater, and Bill, Tampa; a brother, William "L.W." Bray, Ormond Beach; two sisters, Mildred Warrington, Eustis, and Aileen Chaffee, Daytona Beach; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
