BUNNELL - Robert W. "Rob" Deen Jr., 77, 312 E. Palm St., a longtime Flagler County resident, died Monday morning at Community Hospital of Bunnell after a long illness.

Mr. Deen was born in Baxley, Ga., and moved to the Flagler County area with his family in 1906. Owner of the Bar-D-Ranch, he had farmed in Flagler County for 33 years. He was founder and past president of the Flagler County Cattlemen's Association, and was the honoree of Cracker Day in 1976. Mr. Deen was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bunnell.

Survivors include his widow, Helen; two daughters, Pat Cowart and Sondra Wall, both of Bunnell; a sister, Donnella Chastain, Orlando; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 355, Bunnell, 32010. Craig, Bunnell, is in charge.

 

DEEN, ROBERT W. (ROB) - Funeral service for Robert W. (Rob) Deen, 77, 312 E. Palm St., Bunnell, who died Monday morning at Community Hospital at Bunnell, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Bunnell with the Rev. William L Baldwin, pastor, officiating. Calling hours at the Craig Chapel will be today (Tuesday) from 6 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Deen was born in Baxley, Ga., moving to the Flagler County area with his family in 1906. Owner of the Bar-D-Ranch, he had farmed in Flagler County for 33 years. Mr. Deen was honoree of “Cracker Day” in 1976, was founder and past president of the Flagler County Cattlemen’s Association and a member of First United Methodist Church of Bunnell.

He is survived by his widow, Helen; two daughters, Pat Cowart and Sondra Wall, both of Bunnell; one sister, Donnella Chastain, Orlando; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Flowers are gratefully declined and memorials suggested to First Methodist Church, P.O. Box 355, Bunnell, Fla., 32010.

Interment will be in Espanola Cemetery.
