Frances Aileen Dunson Harding, 82, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009, at the Stuart Meyer Hospice House. She was a daughter of the late Walker Lee and Margaret E. Brown Dunson. Born February 12, 1927 in Alexander City, Tallapoosa Co., Ala., she moved to Flagler County at a young age.

She was affectionately known as "Granny", "Greens" the "Avon Lady" and the "Candy Lady". She worked as a ward clerk for the Bunnell General Hospital and retired after 30 plus years of service. She and her husband, Martin Harding, were also foster parents, and had a babysitting service for a lot of locals.

Surviving are her children: Mary Matthews Snyder and John C. Matthews Jr., St. Johns Park, Charlene Akins Jones, Palm Coast; step-children, Patricia Cone, Flagler Beach, Chuck Harding, Palm Coast; adopted son, Adam Boyington, St. Johns Park; sister, Ruby Jarosz, The Hammock; sisters-in-law, Mae Dunson, The Hammock; Anna Dunson, Jacksonville; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Akins and Martin Harding; siblings, Martha Flannigan, W.L. Dunson Jr., Marcus Dunson, William S. (Bill) Dunson, Viginia "Joy" Akins-Griggs and Robert C. Dunson; son, Robert Akins; and one granddaughter, Brittany Ann Boyington.

There will be no services per Aileen's wishes. Instead of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions in her memory be made to Flagler Pines, The Cottage, 300 S. Lemon St. Bunnell, FL 32110 or Stuart Meyer Hospice House, 770 W. Granada Blvd., Suite 304, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
