December 1, 2009Marjorie DuPont Barneschi, 73, beloved wife of 56 years to Louis E. "Gigi" Barneschi passed away in her home with her family by her side after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Marjorie was born January 6, 1936 in St. Augustine Florida, attended Bunnell High School and moved to Connecticut in 1955 and attended Quinnipiac College. She was a Senior Sales Administrator at Cablewave Systems (RFS Systems) in North Haven for 31 years until her retirement on 2001.
She was a member of the first United Methodist Church in Wallingford, where she volunteered until recently and was part of the "Quilting Workshop Ladies". She also volunteered for the Wallingford Red Cross as well as the Trail of Terror. After her retirement she spent most of her time gardening and spending time in her favorite spot in her backyard with her puppy Bear next to the fish pond built by her loving husband.
She will be missed dearly by three daughters and their spouses, Donna & Bruce Batchelder of Wallingford, Sue "Tudu" & Bill Coppola of Hamden, and Gail Chamberland of Middletown; a son, Wayne Barneschi and his wife Christy of Wallingford; three loving grandchildren Richelle, Lisa and Brian Chamberland; her sisters, Celia Slack and Melinda Clemons of Florida, and Ruth Romero of Tennesee; her brother Russell DuPont of Florida; her close cousin Arthur and Patricia Blount of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis A. and Thelma Eatman DuPont; brother James Dozier "JD" DuPont; sister Janet Carroccino; and her sister-in-law Sandra Barneschi Hanlon.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 4, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford . A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. directly at the First United Methodist Church of Wallingford, 941 Old Rock Hill Rd. Interment will be in In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford .
