Mary Elizabeth Ficklin Zichittella, 88, of Hartsdale Road, died Feb. 16, 2003, at Indian River Residential Center, Chesapeake. 

Mrs. Zichittella was born Oct. 8, 1914 in Hagerstown, Md., to the late George Edward Ficklin and the late Margaret Petrie Ficklin. She was the widow of Mario Rosario Zichittella and was also predeceased by her son, Robert Dixon Kendall. 

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Taylor Deans and husband Madison Kelly Deans Jr. of Virginia Beach and Maria Dorothea Booth and husband Larry Booth of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Lotus Kendall; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at Providence Presbyterian Church, Virginia Beach, with the Rev. Dr. Robin Woodell and the Rev. Jeff Bell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 5497 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.

The Cremation Society of Virginia, Virginia Beach, is in charge of arrangements.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Mary Elizabeth Ficklin Zichittella, 88, of Virginia Beach, a former Daytona Beach resident, died Sunday at Indian River Residential Center, Chesapeake, Va. 

Born in Hagerstown, Md., Mrs. Zichittella was a Teletype operator for the U.S. government. 

Survivors include two daughters, Maria Booth, Daytona Beach, and Margaret Deans, Virginia Beach; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Cremation Society of Virginia, Virginia Beach, is in charge.
