William Leonard Grissom, 81, died July 19, 2011, in Port St. Lucie. He was born in Bunnell and lived in Fort Pierce for 38 years, coming from Albany, Ga.

He was a 21-year combat veteran in the Air Force, serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was founder of Grissom Accounting PA, Inc. He was an active member of Westside Baptist Church of Fort Pierce and a member of the Elks Club 1520 in Fort Pierce.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Skinner Grissom; sons, William Leonard Grissom Jr., Garry Grissom and Steve Grissom; daughters, Marcy Brennan, Jinger Grissom and Vangy Grissom Bruhn; sister, Sally Glissendorf; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Grissom; and sister, Haroldine King.

Services: Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. July 22 with a service at 2 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
