James Fender Hall of Gainesville died Monday in Gainesville. He was 86.
He was born in Rodman and moved to Gainesville from Jacksonville in 1956. He was a retail paint dealer and worked with Gainesville York Rite Bodies and Edward R. Rose Sr. Masonic Lodge No. 374.
He was also a member of the Haisley R. Lynch American Legion Post No. 16, the Daughters of the American Revolution and Highlands Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Virginia Hall.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Hall McDuffie of Atlanta and Susan Hall of Gainesville; sons Donald James Hall of Pompano Beach and Charles Howard Hall of Gainesville; a sister, Winofred James Kaleel of Callahan; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
