Kay Helen Hornsby, 69, of 901 Hunting Ridge Road, Martinsville, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Lakeland, Fla., on Nov. 11, 1936, to Lucian Harris and Lillian Harrelson Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Harris.
She was a teller with First Federal Savings and loan and she was a member of Broad Street Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, John W. Hornsby of the home; daughters, Tambre Hornsby of Richmond and Laurel Powell of Ridgeway; sons, Roger Hornsby and John W. Hornsby Jr., both of Martinsville; a sister, Linda Bell of Gainsville, Fla.; brothers, Lamar Harris of Panama City, Fla. and Clinton Harris of Valdosta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Broad Street Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Perotti officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service Thursday, and other times at the home.
