Zachary Grantham Holland, Jr., 84, died on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at Charles A. Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, N.C.

Born in Flagler County, Fla., on Aug. 27, 1918, he was the son of the late Zachary Grantham Holland, Sr. and Flora Maude Deen Holland. Mr. Holland was a farmer and a produce broker. He was a member of Southern Methodist Church. He was a dual member of Masonic Lodge #200 in Bunnell, Fla., and Masonic Lodge in Hastings, Fla., where he was past master of both lodges; he was a member of Morocco Temple Shriners in Jacksonville, Fla.; director, National Potato Council; director, Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association, and was also a great story teller.

Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Mary Ketus Deen Holland of the home; two sons, John Grantham Holland and wife Mindy of Duluth, Ga., and William Zachary Holland; one sister, Marjorie Palmquist, Bunnell; grandson, Vincent Berkeley Holland; granddaughters, Mary Katherine Holland, and Sarah Michelle Holland; great-grandson, Zachary Grantham Holland, III, and great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Renee Holland.

Memorial services will be held today, Aug. 13, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. in Linville Falls Community Church with Dr. Larry Bond and Rev. Keith Tutweiler, officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Pellicer Creek Cemetery in St. John's County, Fla.

Zachary Grantham Holland Jr., age 84, of Linville Falls died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at Charles A. Cannon Jr. Memorial Hospital in Banner Elk. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Linville Community Church. Westmoreland Funeral home is assisting the family.
