GAINESVILLE, FL - Lillian "Lillo" J. Townsend, 94, formerly of Macon, passed away on Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 11A.M. Monday in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. The family will meet friends from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Ingleside Baptist Church, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon 31210 or to their charity of choice.

Mrs. Townsend was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Richard H. "Dick" Townsend and was the daughter of the late William Edgar and Lillian Williams Johnson. Born in Flagler County, FL, she was educated there and at business school in Tampa. She had worked for the Dade County Tax Assessor's Office before moving to Macon in 1941. Mrs. Townsend worked at First National Bank in Macon, as bookkeeper at Chandler Insurance Co. and as office manager and co-owner with her husband at Riverside Realty.

Mrs. Townsend was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, had served as a Circle Leader and as secretary in the Junior Sunday School Department.

Survivors include her nieces, Phyllis Ann (Alexander) Dompe and Dr. Jane Susan Townsend, all of Gainesville, FL; her nephew, John Michael Townsend of Washington, DC.

Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
