Dexter L. Knight of Daytona Beach passed away at Halifax Hospital early Monday morning after a brief illness.
Mr. Knight was the son of Mrs. Eunice P. Taylor of St. Augustine and the late K.K. Knight of Bunnell. He was born in Jacksonville but had lived in Flagler County most of his life. He had resided in Daytona Beach for the past year. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was 36 years of age.
Mr. Knight is survived by his wife, Mildred, of Daytona Beach; his mother, Mrs. Eunice P. Taylor of St. Augustine; a step-son, Ted Daniels of Ormond Beach. Also surviving are several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services were held at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon from the chapel of Baggett-McIntosh Funeral Home in Daytona Beach. Rev. Thomas Pinner, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, officiated. Interment followed at the family plot in the Crescent City Cemetery (Eden Cemetery-CSDeen).
Pallbearers were Curtis Rodgers, Leonard Moody, Walter Eberhinger, Rodney Head, William Shaw and James Daugherty.
