Ocklawaha - Lois Lynch Burns, 88, of Ocklawaha, passed away on March 7, 2010 at Prestige Manor Assisted Living Facility, in Belleview, Florida. Born in Ocala, Florida to Earl and Bertha S. Lynch (deceased), she grew up in Deland, Florida.
On June 7, 1944, she married Melvin R. Burns and they had 64 years together. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2008. She retired from the State of Florida after more than 30 years. She then traveled extensively to the Central American Countries, Alaska and most of the United States. She enjoyed birding, photography, cooking, and the many dogs they bred, raised and loved. Lois leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members. She touched many lives and will be missed by all of them and the staff of Prestige Manor who loved and cared for her these last years.
A memorial service will be held at Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce Chapel East (2739 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala) on Saturday (March 13th) at 11 AM.
She will be buried at Florida National Cemetery with her beloved husband, Mel.
