BUNNELL -- Carrie King Alford, 86, of East Magnolia Avenue, a life-long resident, died Thursday at Memorial Hospital-Flagler.

Mrs. Alford, a homemaker, was born in Baxley, Ga. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a past church treasurer; and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class and the Church Long Range Planning Committee. Other memberships include the United Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was an officer with the Pioneers of Bunnell.

Survivors include four sons, Herschel King and Larry King, both of Bunnell, Don, Jacksonville, and Lanny, Atlanta; a sister, Leona Story, Miami; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

ALFORD, CARRIE KING - Funeral service tor Carrie King Alford, 86, Bunnell, who died Thursday at Memorial Hospital-Flagler in Bunnell, will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Bunnell, with the Rev. Scott Conner, pastor, officiating. Viewing hours will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at Craig Funeral Home Chapel, Palm Coast, and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Mrs. Alford was born in Baxley, Ga., moved to this area as a little girl and spent the rest of her life in Flagler County. She was a homemaker and a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Bunnell where she served as past church secretary, was on the Long Range Planning Committee and worked with Dorcas Sunday School class, She was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a past officer with the Pioneers of Bunnell.

Survivors include two sons. Herschel King and Larry King, both of Bunnell; two step-sons, Don Alford, Jacksonville, and Lanny Alford, Atlanta, Ga.; and one sister, Leona Story, Miami. Mrs. Alford was known as "Mema" to her nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
