Funeral service for H.V. Peavy, 73, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at Florida Hospital Flagler, will be Saturday 11 a.m. in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. South, Flagler Beach. Interment will follow at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach. His family will receive friends Friday (today) from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was a longtime resident of Flagler County moving here as a young child from Vienna, Ga., in 1937. Mr. Peavy was born in 1933 to the late Howell and Corrine (Bruce) Peavy. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Mr. Peavy was the owner and operated Flagler County Insurance Agency for many years. He also worked for Ellis Bank in Bunnell for 28 years and retired as the vice president.

Mr. Peavy was past president of Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, County Commissioner, and City Commissioner of Bunnell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bunnell, The Bunnell Moose Lodge, Palm Coast Lions Club, The Flagler County School Board, and Enterprise Flagler. He enjoyed golf, traveling, the ocean view, and being involved in the growth of the community.

Mr. Peavy is survived by two daughters, Janet Roberts and her husband Richard, Ormond Beach, and Patricia Tilton and her husband Bart, Palm Coast; two sisters; Catherine Tyre and her husband Ed, Middleburg, Fla., and Margaret Botterbusch and her husband Jack, Neptune Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Morgan Peavy, Jacksonville, Fla., Wendell Peavy, Flagler Beach; four grandchildren, Cylle and Shawn Stone, Ormond Beach, Trey and Shane Tully, Palm Coast.
