FORT PIERCE -- Fulton McKinney (Ken) Townsend, 71, of Fort Pierce, a former resident of Flagler County, died Saturday at home. 

Mr. Townsend, a Navy veteran of World War II, was born in Lake Butler and moved to Fort Pierce 31 years ago from his birthplace. He formerly was a general contractor, a rancher and the owner of Townsend Cleaning Service. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and an avid golfer. 

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a son, Walter, Colbert, Wash.; three daughters, Shirley Townsend and Brenda Akins, both of Bunnell, and Sharon Castellano, Brandon; a stepson, Craig Bridgers, Fort Pierce; a stepdaughter, Tammy Cuthbert, Clanton, Ala.; a sister, Eloise Allemand, Longwood; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
