WEBSTER - Alfred R. Webster, age 83 passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 27th at St. Vincent s Hospital. Al was born on March 12, 1929 in DeLand, Florida.

He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country in the Korean Conflict. He later retired from Prudential Healthcare of Florida after 20 years of service.

Al is survived by his loving wife, Merle of 56 years, his brother, Bill Webster, children Richard (Donna), Teresa (Craig) and James (Miranda), 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was happiest when surrounded by his family. Al sang for many years in the First Baptist Church Choir, and played the piano beautifully as well. His charitable personality and charming smile will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends at 1 pm Friday, March 30, 2012 followed by funeral services at 2 pm in the First Baptist Church Hobson Auditorium with Pastor Steve McCollum officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Florida United Methodist Children’s home or the National Kidney Foundation.
