Thursday, July 7, 1977Funeral Services were held Sunday for Frances (Billie) Dorsey, 53, Gainesville, Ga., who died Friday night at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
A native of Huston Bunnell High School and was a graduate of Brenau She graduated from Bunnell High School was a graduate of Brenau College, Gainesville, Ga. She had been a resident of Gainesville, Ga. for the past 25 years. For 19 years she was a teacher and director at the Presbyterian Kindergarten in Gainesville. She was a member of the Gainesville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Haskell F. Dorsey of Gainesville, a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Adams of Gainesville, Ga., a son, Jimmy Dorsey of Atlanta, her mother Mrs. Louise Whitaker of Bunnell. Sisters surviving are Mrs. Ray Mercer, Bunnell; Mrs. Leonard Moody, Alexandria, Va.; Mrs. Louis Friedman, DeLand and half-sister, Mrs. Mary Louie Fleetwood, San Mateo; and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. She was buried in Moosy Creek Cemetery near Gainesville.
